Thanks Konrad! Yes you can definitely use containerd/cri-o as the container runtime instead of dockerd. In that case you will not able to use Docker CLI. It will have to be replaced with Podman CLI or any other tool that is compatible with containerd. This is the second scenario in the header image. I haven't tried Podman yet though.

In this article, I keep the dockerd and Docker CLI in use as many people want to get rid off Docker Desktop and not Docker itself.
